Tesco in jam over traffic
Traffic jam busting measures at a Tesco supermarket in Cannock will not solve the problem of the "dangerous" junction, according to parish councillors.

The supermarket giant is asking for permission to realign the road leading into its store at Hawks Green in response to safety concerns raised by residents.
It recently lodged plans with Cannock Chase District Council to change the access road off Hayes Way, but ignored calls for an extra exit to be added.
Residents claim there is a big bottleneck at the petrol station forecourt which is close to the car park's entrance, which forces cars to queue back onto the road.
Members of Heath Hayes and Wimblebury Parish Council said the plans would not address the road safety and congestion problems.
They discussed the proposals at their recent meeting and were disappointed that Tesco had not taken on board shoppers' concerns about the bottleneck, which they claimed was dangerous and caused too much congestion.
Parish councillor Bob Todd said: "It will be no relief whatsoever. The problem will still remain if cars are still queuing to get out.
"There will still be queues around the island so they haven't addressed any of our concerns and are taking us for fools.
"People have said it is too dangerous and don't want to shop there anymore. They all blame the entrance and exit." Councillor Todd also raised the issue of disabled parking provision.
Tesco's store manager and an area manager met five district and parish councillors two months ago.
Tesco's David Nieberg said at the time the move showed Tesco did not dismiss anything and it was happy to discuss concerns.
